Beginner Mahjong classes like Mahjong 101 offer a warm, welcoming introduction to the game. If you’ve never played before—or you’ve watched friends play and wished you could join—this class is designed for you to learn Mahjong.

The pace is gentle, the atmosphere is social, and no question is too small. By the end, you’ll grasp the fundamentals, understand basic Mahjong strategy, and feel ready to sit at a table with confidence.

Mahjong 102 is the next step after taking beginner mahjong classes and mastering the basics. This class enhances your understanding of the game through guided play, helping everything “click” as you start to learn mahjong more effectively and develop your skills with beginner-friendly strategies.

🀄️ Simple strategies that build good habits

🀄️ How to play full rounds with support

This class is designed to transition you from feeling like “I think I get it…” to confidently saying “I can totally do this” as you refine your mahjong strategy.

If you have completed the first two lessons in our beginner mahjong classes or are looking for a mahjong refresher, try guided play! 

Enjoy gameplay with guidance from an instructor, focusing on Charleston strategy and additional mahjong strategy tips and discussion. 

This is a great capstone course—once you’ve completed all three lessons in the beginner’s series, you should be ready to play on your own! 

Mahjong 103 lasts 2-2.5 hours, and a minimum of 3 players are required for a private lesson.

This is not a one-off intro class. When you sign up, you’re committing to both sessions so you can build skills over two weeks and leave with a full understanding of gameplay.
